BarkPark

Everyone knows that BarkPark is a fun event on Saturdays. With 10 fenced acres, a concession stand for a full lunch or just a snack, do it yourself or have us wash your dog bath area, a 1/2 acre pond, agility equipment and most importantly, unlike any other dogpark, over 20 volunteers working in the park at all times.

But BarkPark is far more than just a place to have fun with your dog. We are a 501c3 non profit all volunteer organization. 100% of the money raised goes to support organizations and programs that care for abandoned and abused animals.

Our yearly membership fees have funded these programs:

Dog House Program: Capital Area Humane Society
Equipment/supplies for Humane Officers: Capital Area Humane Society
Behavior Hotline: Capital Area Humane Society
Seniors with Pets Program: Franklin County Dog Shelter
Off site infirmary: Franklin County Dog Shelter
The Fix low cost spay/neuter program: Franklin County Dog Shelter
Rescue vehicle : Fairfield County Humane Society
Medical department refrigerator: Fairfield County Humane Society
Kennel Supplies: Adams County Humane Society
Ohio Spay/Neuter license plate
Funding for the Columbus Aids Task Force Pet Program
Building improvement supplies: Meigs County Dog Shelter
Brochures/literature: No More Puppymills Protests

In addition the money earned in the park on Saturday's has raised over $100,000 per year to help fund the rescues that were BarkPark Day guests.

Since our opening over $850,000 in cash and in-kind has been raised, and we can't even begin to estimate how many animals lives were saved or enriched due to the support of our members.

Even if you do utilize the new public dog parks. BarkPark is a unique experience for you and your dogs all while contributing to help homeless animals.

BarkPark is the only dog park in the United States established solely to raise funds for Animal Welfare Organizations. The park is at a private residence and open the first three Saturdays of the month May through October, plus special events.

All dogs must be spay/neutered, vaccinated and social with other dogs and children. Our fee is $150 per season and $5 entry fee each time you attend.

BarkPark, not just another dog park .............. it's an event!

Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places?

When looking for that new family member please be responsible and do not purchase an animal from a pet store. Dogs from pet stores are raised in Puppy Mills. By buying from one of these stores you are not only getting a poorly bred animal with a high risk for health and temperament problems you are supporting the torture of helpless animals.
It is estimated there are ten million homeless pets in the United States. Shelters, Humane Societies and Rescues have many purebred and mixed breed animals waiting for a home. PLEASE MAKE ADOPTION YOUR FIRST OPTION.
If you feel you must purchase a purebred puppy make sure you research the breed and only buy from a reputable breeder.

Zoe's Friends and Todd The Laptop Guy

Todd The Laptop Guy has been incredibly generous, once again.

This animal friendly business has donated a television program to help the dogs at Franklin County Dog Shelter and to support the efforts of BarkPark with our very own commerical.

You can view this information at On Demand from Time Warner or from the Zoe's Friends Website.

Thank You Laptop Guy!

The Spay/Neuter Plate is here!

The Pet plates will cost motorists $25 in addition to standard license fees. By state law $10 of the fee goes to the bureau of motor vehicles. $15 will go to the Ohio Pet Fund. Proceeds from the sale of the plate will be used for the spaying and neutering of dogs and cats to curb Ohio's pet overpopulation.
